Cardinal Bagnasco then listed the family, which is "fundamental for society".
"In third place (there is) the absolutely essential reform of the State apparatus," he said, adding that he hoped the upcoming polls would result in a government that might truly be able to pursue these priorities. In reference to promises made by parties during the election campaign, Cardinal Bagnasco said that "Italians need to hear the truth of things, without concessions or dramas, but also without illusions. "They are no longer fooled by anyone or by anything".
