Camorra top boss Lago arrested near Naples
Police say 62-year-old responsible for murder 19 years ago

(ANSA) - Naples, February 7 - Naples police arrested
one of the city's alleged top mafia bosses Pietro Lago in a
dawn raid Thursday in the nearby city of Caserta.The 62-year-old was arrested for a murder allegedly committed 19 years ago in a battle between clans for supremacy in the area.
According to police sources, Lago was probably one of the few old-style Camorra "godfathers" to survive the splintering of the organization years back.
Investigations have traced an alliance between the Lago, Casalesi and Bidognetti Camorra clans, who allegedly swap hitmen.
