Spread inches down to 279 points at Wednesday opening

(ANSA) - Rome, February 6 - The spread between Italy's
10-year paper and its German counterpart opened on Wednesday at
279, lower than Tuesday's closing at 280 basis points and
Monday's 284.8-point close.The yield opened at 4.44%.
The spread is a key measure of Italy's borrowing costs and of investor confidence.
