Women and babies hit by driver in Aosta on sidewalk (ANSA) - Aosta, January 31 - Two women and two children were hospitalized, one of them in critical condition, on Thursday after a car veered onto a sidewalk in the northwestern town of Aosta, hitting them. One of the children, two-month-old Salvatore R., is in critical condition and has been transferred to the Regina Margherita hospital of Turin. The driver crashed into his baby buggy, hitting another child and the two accompanying mothers on the sidewalk simultaneously.

The other child involved in the accident, two-month-old Nathalie F., is in less serious condition and is currently at the Beuregard hospital of Aosta, though doctors are evaluating transferring her to the larger Turin hospital. The driver is in police custody.
