(ANSA) - Rome, January 31 - Rome prosecutors said Thursday
that they have opened a probe into the financial scandal at
troubled Italian bank Monte dei Paschi di Siena (MPS).The prosecutors said they are looking into possible market manipulation. Magistrates in Siena are also investigating the case and prosecutors in the southern city of Trani have launched a probe into whether the Bank of Italy and stock-market regulator Consob failed to conduct proper oversight.
