30 January, 11:31
(ANSA) - Turin, January 30 - Police said Wednesday that they
have detained a man suspected of shooting Turin city councillor
Alberto Musy six times last March.Musy, a member of the centrist UDC party and a father of four, has been in a coma since the attack.
Judicial sources said the suspect stood in 2011 council elections in the same coalition that supported Musy's unsuccessful bid to become mayor of Turin, but they added that the likely motive was not linked to politics.
The labour lawyer was shot by a person waiting in the courtyard of the building where the councillor lives in central Turin after he had taken his children to school.
Closed-circuit video footage showed the suspect near to the scene dressed in dark clothes and wearing a motorcycle helmet. Before falling into a coma, Musy said the attacker was a man of around 40.
