Chrysler reports 2012 profits of $1.7 bn, sales up 20%
Fiat-controlled carmaker's turnover 'to reach $72-73 bn in 2013'

(ANSA) - New York, January 30 - Chrysler Group LLC closed
2012 with profits of $1.7 billion, a sharp rise from profits of
$183 million in 2011, the company reported in a note on
Wednesday.Turnover at the Fiat-controlled carmaker increased by 20% to $65.8 billion in 2012 compared to $55 billion the previous year.
Chrysler forecast turnover in 2013 would rise to $72-73 billion, with profits reaching $2.2 billion.
"While we are pleased to have achieved strong financial results in 2012, the enterprise we are crafting is not complete," Chrysler Group LLC Chairman and CEO Sergio Marchionne said in the company statement.
"The goals we've set for the year ahead reflect a common desire by everyone from leadership to the shop floor to succeed and sustain the power of the house we are building. Our aim is meaningful, but it is not complicated, and only a preoccupation with quality can achieve it….Our continued achievement relies upon maintaining a humble spirit and an intense focus on the integrity of our work. And so we press on," Marchionne said.
