Rome mayor not probed in kickback investigation
Bribe of 600,000 euros allegedly paid for bus contract

(ANSA) - Rome, January 28 - Rome Mayor Gianni Alemanno is
not being probed as part of an investigation into alleged
kickbacks, prosecutors in the Italian capital said on Monday.At the weekend Alemanno was linked in media reports to a probe into an alleged 600,000-euro bribe paid to win a contract to supply 42 new buses to the city.
The prosecutors said six people, including businessmen and the former chief of a municipal agency, were under investigation.
