(ANSA) - Rome, January 28 - Italian screen diva Gina
Lollobrigida has pressed charges against her 44-year-old
ex-companion for allegedly trying to swindle a court into making
him the recipient of her estate.
"I may have been conned by Javier, a vile person who
married me by proxy in Spain without my knowledge and without my
consent, in order to inherit my estate after my death," she
said.Lollabrigida, 85, told authorities in Rome Sunday that her ex-companion married her by proxy in Barcelona by obtaining private documents from the 1950s film star. According to her and her lawyer, the alleged swindler has performed other cons in the past. Her relationship with the man in question lasted from 2006 to 2007. "I was going through a rough time and I thought that changing my life would pull me out of depression, but I would never have given my consent to marry," she said. "International investigations will take place because I want to shed light on this squalid affair and all the people involved".
