Trade union representative arrested for alleged extortion

Entrepreneur was reportedly targeted by FIOM member

(ANSA) – Naples, January 25 – An Italian trade union representative was arrested by law enforcement officers for alleged extortion on Friday in the southern Italian city of Naples.

Angelo Spena, a representative from the Caserta branch of Italian metal workers' union FIOM, reportedly attempted to bribe a businessman with activities in the Bagnoli area of Naples. Spena was placed under house arrest.
