(ANSA) - Vatican City, January 25 - Pope Benedict XVI
tweeted in solidarity with pro-life marchers demonstrating
across the United States on Friday in a week that marks the 40th
anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court decision that made
abortion legal.
"I join all those marching for life from afar, and pray
that political leaders will protect the unborn and promote a
culture of life," he tweeted to his more than 2.5 million
followers from his handle @Pontifex.
Anti-abortion rallies attended by high-ranking Catholic
clergy have been organized around the country.
