Camusso says Italy needs government to lead away from crisis
Leaders must 'know and choose' the way out says CGIL head

(ANSA) - Rome, January 25 - Susanna Camusso,
secretary-general of the powerful union confederation CGIL said
at a conference in Rome on Friday that to leave the Italian
economic crisis behind the country needs a government that
"knows and wants to choose, and that knows how to show the way
out"."Talking about work is like talking about food. Work is the only real way to create wealth in our country and the world," Camusso said.
"European choices and their Italian translation have aggravated the crisis, because they start with the wrong premise - with severity and obsession with public debt," Camusso said at the opening of a union program conference focusing on strategies for work.
"We are convinced that Italy can make it if we all pull together. But if we are divided, the crisis will worsen," she concluded.
