(ANSA) - Rome, January 25 - The body of controversial
Italian priest Gianni Baget Bozzo, known for political activism
and supporting recognition of same-sex couples, has been exhumed
as part of a wrongful death investigation into his doctor.
Charges were pressed against the doctor, who received an
inheritance from Baget Bozzo, by the priest's sister, who has
since died.
A frequent guest on political talks shows and newspaper
commentator, Baget Bozzo drew criticism for his support of gay
rights and admitting that while he himself had homosexual
tendencies, as a priest he abstained from any sexual activity.
