Skeleton found in pizzeria confiscated from 'Ndrangheta
Remains could be linked to criminal activity

(ANSA) - Lecco, January 23 - Police in the northern city of
Lecco on Wednesday said that a human skeleton was found in a
former pizzeria confiscated from a Calabrian 'Ndrangheta mafia
clan.Investigators believe that the human remains found behind a wall could be linked to 'Ndrangheta activity.
Police have given medical examiners the skeleton to ascertain the period and cause of death.
While based in the southern Calabria region, the 'Ndrangheta has been active in northern Italy for decades.
Considered the strongest of all Italian crime groups, it also has branches in Germany and other northern European countries as well as Australia and Canada.
