Court rejects Berlusconi claim of bias over alimony payment (see related story) (ANSA) - Milan, January 9 - Milan's criminal courts on Wednesday rejected accusations from Silvio Berlusconi of bias in the ruling that saw the ex-premier ordered to pay 36 million euros a year in alimony to his estranged wife Veronica Lario.

Berlusconi said on Tuesday that the three-woman panel that decided on the figure as part of a divorce settlement were "feminist and Communist judges".

The courts said in a statement that it "rejected with firmness any insinuation of bias" by the panel.
