Soccer: Roma's Lamela sidelined for three weeks

Striker suffering ankle-ligament strain

(ANSA) - Rome, November 21 - AS Roma's Argentine forward Erik Lamela is set to be sidelined for three weeks with an ankle-ligament strain, the Serie A club said on Wednesday. The 20-year-old, who arrived in Italy last year after leaving River Plate, is Roma's top scorer so far this season with eight goals.

The problem means he will probably miss Roma's upcoming Serie A games against Pescara, Siena and Fiorentina. He should be back for the December 16 visit to Chievo Verona.

Roma are sixth in Serie A with 20 points from 13 games, 12 points behind leaders Juventus.
