New brands bound for Spain from Greece hidden by sea bream

(ANSA) - Ancona, October 5 - Italian police on Friday found
seven tonnes of contraband cigarettes hidden behind a shipment
of fish in a truck that came off a ferry from Greece.The cigarettes, bearing the previously unseen brands Sila and Glory, were worth more than 1.5 million euros and were on their way to Spain, police in this Marche port city said.
The driver, a Greek, was arrested for aggravated smuggling.
A judge ordered the fish - almost 2,000 kg of giltheads or sea bream - to be given to various charity kitchens in Ancona.
Ancona police have stopped 60 tonnes of illegal cigarettes since the start of the year.
