Railway line fire causes 8 train delays in Catanzaro area
Enforced halt between Nocera Terinese and Lamezia Terme

(ANSA) - Catanzaro, August 23 - Eight trains suffered
delays Thursday as a fire broke out close to the railway line
between the towns of Nocera Terinese and Lamezia Terme in the
province of Catanzaro in Calabria, southern Italy.The flames forced rail officials to suspend the flow of train traffic on the tracks from 14.30 to 16.50 local. The trains resumed operations only after fire brigade authorisation was received, and following an inspection by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana train company technicians to evaluate the safety of the line. Four of the trains affected were regional ones, whilst the other half were long-distance ones.
