'Ndrangheta boss captured after hospital escape

Celestino Abbruzzese on the run since March

(ANSA) - Cosenza, August 7 - An 'Ndrangheta mafia boss was captured Tuesday after escaping from a hospital in March. Celestino Abbruzzese, 67, had been on the run since fleeing a hospital in the Southern Calabria city of Catanzaro.

Police tracked him down in the small town of Cassano allo Jonio, north of Catanzaro, where they said he was helped by a network of supporters. Abbruzzese faces charges of murder and other crimes.
