(ANSA) - London, August 3 - Diplomacy with North Korea is
always something of a roller-coaster ride, but this time the
expression had a literal meaning for a young officer with the
British Embassy in Pyongyang.Barnaby Jones, the British charge d'affaires in the North Korean capital, was all smiles as he was photographed sitting with leader Kim Jong-Un in a roller coaster at a new amusement park.
The attractions of the Rungna People's Pleasure Ground were created by the Italian company Zamperla di Altavilla Vicentina, an industry leader which two years ago revived the iconic American park Coney Island.
Britain's Foreign Office confirmed the identity of the diplomat and noted that Britain had accepted an invitation made to the entire diplomatic community in Pyongyang to visit the park. "A singular event," said the Foreign Office, "but it is vital that we actively engage in dialogue with the North Korean government as we work side by side with them on a series of educational and humanitarian projects which benefit the people of North Korea".
