Four convicted in mosque-building scam
Iraq, Unicredit get damages

(ANSA) - Turin, February 16 - Four people including a judge
were convicted Thursday of defrauding investors, including the
Iraqi government and top Italian bank Unicredit, in a mosque
that was announced but never built in the Tuscan city of Massa
Carrara.The four, including Massa judge Laura Donatiello, were sentenced to jail terms ranging from six to seven and a half years, which they will appeal.
Damages of 7.5 million euros were awarded to Iraq and Unicredit.
