(ANSA) - Rome, December 18 - A letterbox has been
set up in Rome to collect the thousands of messages sent by
Italian children to Father Christmas this year.At a post office in the central Piazza San Silvestro, 'Father Xmas's postmen' will reply to letters sent to addresses such as The Ministry of Xmas, Santa's Office, North Pole Street, The Milky Way and Reindeer Avenue, the Italian post office said Friday.
As well as their personalised reply from Santa, the children will get a colouring book.
The post office said it expected more than 130,000 letters and cards this year.
What kids wish for most, it said, were "a bicycle, a horse, a million-euro prize, peace, love and good health, and a wild boar to eat on Christmas Day".
The post office has put a collection of the best letters in a book, I Believe You Exist, which will be sold for charity.
The beneficiary, Friends of the Children, is a group that has been working since 1986 in Italy and around the world for children's rights to have a family.
