Forest ranger leaps onto runaway truck
Daredevil stunt averts highway disaster

(ANSA) - Arezzo, December 9 - An Italian forest ranger narrowly averted disaster on Wednesday by leaping aboard a runaway truck and pulling it off the road.
Officer Mario Lanzi said he "never thought to hesitate" after seeing the truck zig-zagging wildly down a highway in Tuscany.
He and his partner sped after the truck and were able to pull up alongside where they saw the driver slumped over the wheel.
In a move worthy of an action film, Lanzi jumped from car to truck and climbed into the cabin as it barrelled full-speed down the road.
Though he had no experience driving trucks, he was able to slow the vehicle and pull it onto the shoulder.
The driver, who was rushed to the hospital for a minor brain hemorrhage, later told doctors he had hit his head in a car accident earlier in the week.
