Holy See asks Trump to work for peace

(ANSA) - Rome, November 9 - Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin on Wednesday congratulated Donald Trump on being elected president of the United States and called on him to work for world peace. "With respect we acknowledge the decision of the American people, which I'm told was characterised by a big turnout at the polls," Parolin said. "And I give me best wishes to the new president, so that his service can be fruitful and I assure our prayers to support him in the service of his country and in the service of the wellbeing and peace of the world".
