Inps: 824.487 EU workers born in Eastern countries, down 1,5

Majority originating in Romania (81.7%), 8% from Poland

(ANSA) - ROME, NOVEMBER 28 - In 2018 the number of EU workers born in Eastern European countries dropped to 824.487 with a decrease of 1.5%, the lowest figure compared to 2009. The Inps Observatory on EU citizens born in Eastern European countries reported. If you look at the total number of EU citizens born in the Eastern European countries known by INPS, the number reaches 954,274 people, slightly less compared with 2017 (they were 963,500). The vast majority of EU citizens born in Eastern European countries are Romanian (779,630, 81.7%) whereas 76,077 come from Poland (8%) and 45,207 from Bulgaria (4.7%). Only 5.6% comes from the remaining eight countries taken into account.
