(ANSA) - BELGRADE, SEPTEMBER 24 - Adria Airways said it is
temporarily ceasing all its flight operations from and to all
its bases (Ljubljana, Pristina, Tirana) on September 24 and 25,
with the exception of a Frankfurt-Ljubljana flight, the
Slovenia-based company announced in a statement late Monday.
The decision to temporarily suspend flight operations is "a
consequence of currently unsecured access to fresh cash which
airline needs for further flight operations," Adria Airways
added. The company "is at this point intensively searching
solutions in cooperation with potential investor," Adria's
management added, specifying that "the goal of everyone involved
is to make Adria Airways fly again and that ceasing of
operations is indeed temporarily."
All inbound and outbound Adria Airways flights from and to
Ljubljana airport are reported cancelled, the official website
of the airport shows. "All other airlines flying to and from
Ljubljana Joze Pučnik Airport are operating their flights
according to the timetable," the airport management said in a
statement.
The former Slovenian national air carrier was acquired in
2016 by the German investments fund 4k Invest. (ANSA).
