(ANSA) - BELGRADE - A new regular direct flight route between the Croatian capital Zagreb and Mostar, in Bosnia and Herzegovina, was inaugurated on Thursday evening, the Croatian news agency Hina reported.

Croatia Airlines will fly throughout the year between Zagreb and Mostar on Thursdays and Sundays, and between Mostar and Zagreb on Fridays and Mondays.

The Croatian Minister of Transport, Oleg Butkovic, was quoted as saying that "connecting Zagreb and Mostar in one hour makes it possible to connect not just the two cities but also to connect them with Europe and the rest of the world," by using connection flights from Zagreb. "This way we are making it possible for a large number of tourists to arrive here in Mostar, Medjugorje," Butkovic added.

Medjugorje is located approximately 30-kilometers from the Mostar International Airport. (ANSA).
