(ANSA) - LUBIANA - The European Investment Bank (EIB) approved a
51 million euro loan to Slovenian Motorway Company (Dars) for
the installation of electronic tolls for heavy vehicles.
The infrastructure project, which is worth 105mn euros over the
610 km of the motorway network, is the first of its kind in
Slovenia. The country will use the guarantees provided by the
European Fund for Strategic Investments (Efsa).
In accordance with the new European sustainable mobility
solutions, the new system will help reduce the waiting time for
trucks, fuel consumption, emissions of air pollutants and even
the acoustic impact, in addition to introducing different toll
levels depending on the vehicle's category and emission class.
