(ANSA) - ROME - Astaldi Group was awarded the contract to
renovate the N-7 railway line,
Warsaw-Wschodnia-Osobowa-Dorohusk. The work is worth 171mn,
Astaldi being the leader of a business group and at 65%, a note
from the industrial group reported. The contract involves the
demolition, reconstruction and extension of the N-7 railway
line, about 68km long, (Lot C, from 107,283 Km to 175,850 Km),
including Lublin railway station. The contract also includes the
implementation of level crossings and new service and access
roads, as well as related works of art and additional works. The
renovation work is expected to last approximately 2 years. The
contractor is PKP (Polskie Linie Kolejowe S.A.), public company
running the Polish railway infrastructure. Astaldi will carry
out the work through a group of companies including Zhol
Zhingeushi (25%, Kazakhstan), PBDiM (5%, Poland) and C.L.F. (5%,
Italy). The works will be funded by the EU and state budgets.
This new contract is part of the Astaldi's business strategy,
which, accordig to the 2017-2021 strategic plan, is aiming at
strengthening its position in Central Europe, in countries where
Astaldi can already rely on a historical presence in transport
infrastructure. In Poland, Astaldi manages a project portfolio
which is worth about € 1bn. (ANSA).
