(ANSA) - BRUSSELS - The goal of the'Civitas Portis' project,
involving 33 partners and five EU cities, including Trieste, is
to find solutions to the challenges of sustainable mobility
faced by port cities across Europe. The initiative was
officially launched this week in Antwerp, Belgium, and will run
for four years. In detail, the project aims to reduce journey
times for commuters and stimulate the use of different
transport modes, creating 3,300 new jobs and boost the economic
growth of the port actually attracting 300 new companies. Along
with Trieste and Antwerp, there are some other cities
participating in the project: Aberdeen (Scotland), Klaipeda
(Lithuania) and Constanta (Romania), and the city of Ningbo in
eastern China. (ANSA).
