Transport: Brinkhorst, let's overcome borders in the Balkans
EU open to corridors' enlargement across the region

(ANSA) - TRIESTE, NOV. 9 - The EC and the European Union ''are open to an enlargement of transport corridors in the Western Balkans'', but ''we need more cooperation among the countries in that region''. This is what Laurens Brinkhorst, coordinator for the TEN-T Mediterranean Corridor, underlined today in Trieste speaking at the meeting of the CEI - PD General Committee on Economic Affairs.
Underlining that the funds for infrastructure in the Balkans ''will come from the Cohesion Fund'', Brinkhorst said that ''it will be necessary for those countries to look beyond their borders. Borders and tensions of the recent past - he added - should be overcome''. (ANSA).
