(ANSA) - BELGRADE, NOV. 16 - Among initiatives organised on the occasion of the Month of Scientific Cooperation between Italy and Serbia, Italy's ambassador to Serbia Giuseppe Manzo and Serbia's minister for education, science and technological development, Srdjan Verbic, signed today in Belgrade the new executive protocol on bilateral scientific and technological cooperation for 2016-2018.

''By signing of this executive protocol we celebrate today the vitality of scientific and technological cooperation between Italy and Serbia'', ambassador Manzo said.

''It's a successful co-operation that aims to integrate Serbia into the network of European research centres and foster collaboration between manufacturers and academic world'', Manzo added.

The signing ceremony of the protocol - the Italian Embassy reported in a press release - was held at the end of the conference ''Italy-Serbia Day: Growth & Development through Science & Technology'', promoted by the Italian Embassy to Serbia and the Association of Italian and Serbian Scientists and Scholars (AIS3). This agreement will facilitate the funding of Italian and Serbian researchers' bilateral mobility (all those who are involved in the 10 selected projects) and Italian co-financing of seven major projects. Roma Tre University will host 24 students from the University of Belgrade in the framework of the ''Erasmus Plus'' European programme. (ANSA).
