Macedonia: media, agreement with Greece on new name

Telma portal, agreement on 'Republic of Northern Macedonia'

30 May, 13:08
(ANSA) - SKOPJE - 'Republic of Northern Macedonia' should be the final proposal to settle the dispute between Skopje and Athens on the name of the former Yugoslavian republic. According to Macedonia's Telma portal, the foreign ministers of Macedonia and Greece, Nikola Dimitrov and Nikos Kotzias, have probably reached an agreeement on this solution.

Citing some well informed sources, the portal added that the Greek premier Alexis Tsipras and his Macedonian counterpart Zoran Zaev will discuss this proposal of agreement in 11 points on the telephone. At any rate, Telma underlined, Macedonia will get the starting date of the EU accession negotiations at the EU summit scheduled for the end of June, with or without a final agreement with Greece, on condition that the negotiations on Macedonia's new name will end by December.
