(ANSA) - BRUSSELS - As for the reforms which are necessary to
get closer to the EU and build consensus on strategic issues
essential for Pristina, Kosovo has achieved ''partial success'',
according to European Commission's document on enlargement,
presented in Strasbourg by High Representative Federica
Mogherini and Commissioner Johannes Hahn.
Brussels considers Pristina ''at the initial stage'' of the
reform process in all key areas: the judicial system, ''still
vulnerable to political influence'', the fight against
organized crime, since ''the authorities must be more effective
in combating money laundering''. The fragmentation and political
polarization had a negative impact on the role of the parliament
and influenced the government's effectiveness'', Brussels said,
underlining the sequence of ''unacceptable actions'' done by
some members during parliamentary sessions, ''such as the use of
tear gas''. As for relations with the other Balkan countries,
the report ended on a positive note: the ratification of the
agreement on border demarcation with Montenegro, in March 2018,
''represented an important step forward'', the EU emphasized.
