Minister Jadranka Joksimovic expressed satisfaction

23 January, 17:50
(ANSA) - BELGRADE, JAN 23 - 52% of Serbs are in favour of their country's accession to the European Union, according to a latest survey conducted by the Ministry for European Integration.

Minister Jadranka Joksimovic said that he was satisfied with the outcome, since in previous surveys - which the ministry carries out every six months - those in favour of Serbia's European integration were 47% and 49%. ''After a long time, we have now exceeded the 50% threshold, and I am very satisfied'', she said.

The minister added that, according to the survey, 65% of the respondents said they were supporting the reform process under way in the country regardless of the accession negotiations that Serbia is pursuing with Brussels. And this indicates, he underlined, that a more modern and efficient country is desired.
