Tourism: Croatia, 2017 record year, 18.5mn visitors

Overnight stays exceeded 100mn for the first time ever

(ANSA) - ZAGREB, 15 JAN. 15 - In Croatia, 2017 has been a historic 'record year' for tourism and the country has recorded for the first time ever more than 100mn overnight stays, reported today Tourism Minister Gari Cappelli.

''With 18.5mn visitors and 102mn overnight stays, we can expect that even the revenues will be excellent'', the minister said. A growth of 13% over 2016 was recorded. The experts have reckoned that the overall turnover of tourism in Croatia in 2017 is expected to exceed 11bn.(ANSA).
