Kosovo: local elections, nationalists' won in Pristina

Ahmeti's wins thanks to 365 votes

(ANSA) - PRISTINA - In Kosovo, the electoral committee, after a recount of the votes cast in the local elections held a few weeks ago, confirmed that Shpend Ahmeti, leader of the Nationalist Self-Determination Movement, won in the municipality of Pristina.

Ahmeti, in his second term as mayor, gained only 365 votes more than Arban Abrashi, candidate of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK). Similar situation in Prizren, the second biggest city of Kosovo in the south of the country, where Mytaher Haskuka ledaer of 'Autodetermination', received 262 votes more than Shaqir Totaj, Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK).

The local elections in Kosovo were held on October 22, with a second round on November 19. LDK of former prime Minister Isa Mustafa won the highest number of votes, whereas president Hashim Thaci's PDK recorded strong losses. (ANSA).
