Serbia: EU asks for a "true reconciliation" with Pristina

Vucic met Mogherini in Brussels, Thursday EU-Serbia SA Council

(ANSA) - BRUXELLES - A "comprehensive normalisation of relations" between Belgrande and Kosovo for "the sake of regional transformation" would allow both Serbia and Kosovo "to be able to make progress on their respective EU paths", the European Service for External Action says in a statement after Federica Mogherini, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, met with Serbia's President Aleksandar Vucic in Brussels.

The High Representative and the President agreed on the importance of Serbia's commitment to EU reform process and stressed the need for a "true reconciliation" between Pristina and Belgrade and for a "cooperation" to the benefit of the entire Western Balkans' region.

The fourth EU-Serbia Stabilisation and Association Council (SA Council) will be held on Thursday in Brussels to review the state of relations between the EU and Serbia, including Serbia's progress in the preparations for membership. The representatives will also have an exchange of views regarding developments in the Western Balkans. (ANSA).
