(ANSA) - TRIESTE - Europe should "move from words to deeds"
in the migrants' emergency and sanction the Member States that
"turned their backs to Italy and Greece". Director of
theInternational Organization for Migration (IOM)Coordination
Office for the MediterraneanFederico Soda said in an interview
with Italian newspaper Repubblica. "The EU Commission had
established refugee quotas for each member country, according to
the population and GDP. Everyone had to do their part, but many
did not keep up the promises, others did not join in from the
beginning".
Hungary, Poland and Austria didn't accept anyone yet, Soda
said, while the Czech Republic "didn't take a migrant in almost
a year". On the other side, Germany is efficiently receiving
migrants. (ANSA).
