(ANSA) - LJUBLJANA - A factory based in Sevnica, Slovenian town where Melania Trump was born, has started producting a line of slippers named 'White House' in honor of the new American First Lady, the first of foreign origin in almost two centuries.

As Ljubljana weekly magazine 'Mladina' reported, the elegant model of slippers was created by the designer Maja Stamol for the factory 'Kopitarna', both in cream and purple nuance. A pair of slippers with sequins and fur embellishments was sent to Melania Trump in New York with the hope that the first lady will wear them in the White House.

This new collection is a limited production and the product is not yet available in stores, even if you can order Melania's slippers directly to the factory.

Last Friday, in conjunction with the inaugural ceremonies of the newly elected US president Donald Trump in Washington, a gala dinner and celebrations were also held in Sevnica, an industrial town in western Slovenia where Melania was born almost 47 years ago. (ANSA).
