Bosnia: local elections, Council of Europe sent observers

Delegation will meet with diplomatic corps and OSCE

(ANSA) - STRASBOURG - A delegation of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe is in Bosnia to observe the elections to be held on October 2. The delegation, composed of 20 members of Congress, 5 of the EU Committee of the Regions and two members of the local self-government associations, will be divided into 12 groups that will monitor the voting process in the Bosnian regions.

In the days ahead of elections, the delegation will meet with representatives of the diplomatic corps and the OSCE and the president of the electoral commission, Ahmet Santic. Meetings are also planned with national and international NGOs as well as with Bosnian journalists.

Finally, the delegation will meet with the Minister of Justice Mato Jozic, and the secretary genearl of the association for local authorities of the Republika Srpska, Aco Pantic.
