Migrants, difficult situation along Macedonian-Greek border

'Economic migrants' have sewn their lips in protest

23 November, 18:33

(ANSA) - SKOPJE/BELGRADE - The situation along the border between Macedonia and Greece is getting more and more difficult.

A growing number of 'economic migrants' is locked out and stranded in 'no man's land' after the authorities in Skopje decided to take in only those refugees who are fleeing war and persecution in Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan.

This decision is similar to that made in recent weeks by Slovenia, Croatia and Serbia. Many migrants from other countries - Iran, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Kurdistan, Morocco, Congo and other African and Asian countries - have sewn their lips together in protest. (ANSA).
