During visit in Kosovo. 'War within Islam underway'

(ANSA) - BEIRUT - Some 100,000 Muslims have been killed by the Islamic State (ISIS) in the past two years, King Abdullah said in a press conference on Tuesday during a visit to Pristina, Kosovo.

The Hashemite king was quoted by several media outlets as saying that a ''war within Islam'' was underway. King Abdallah, who did not specify how he reached this particular figure, reiterated that in his opinion the West and the East are threatened by ''a Third World War against humanity''.

''This is what unites us,'' Abdallah added, once again calling for a shared struggle against terrorism. Jordan is one of the West's main allies in the Middle East region and member of the US-led international coalition, which since September 2014 has been bombing ISIS positions in Syria. (ANSA).
