Macedonia,7 arrested for supporting terrorists in Kumanovo

(ANSA) - SKOPJE - The Macedonian police have arrested in Kumanovo (north) 7 people accused of having supported the action of the terrorist group which had clashed for several hours with security forces in a city neighbourhood last May. According to local media, the arrests took place as part of a major police operation conducted with helicopter support. In the clashes which occurred in May, mainly in the Divo area, on the outskirts of Kumanovo, 8 police officers and 10 armed men were killed - all of them radical Albanian separatists, many of them coming from neighbouring Kosovo. Another 30 terrorists surrendered to local security forces. (ANSA).
