Bulgarian Parliament ratifies 1,5 bln euro loan agreement

(ANSA) - TRIESTE - The Bulgarian Parliament ratified the 1,5 bln euro Loan Agreement with HSBC Bank, Societe Generale, CitiBank, N.A. (London Branch), and UniCredit. The loan will be used to finance the country's growing deficit, the Deposit Insurance Fund and to ensure liquidity of the banking sector.
Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria party (GERB), the Reformist Bloc, the Patriotic Front and Alternative for Bulgarian Revival (ABV) voted in favor of the bill. Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP)-Left Bulgaria and Ataka voted against, while the Movement for Rights and Freedoms and Bulgarian Democratic Centre abstained. (ANSA).
