Mogherini moves to Brussels, the challenges of 'Lady CSFP'

Five years to build Europe's foreign policy

06 November, 12:55

(ANSA) - ROME - Five years and an almost endless array of lapping Europe crisis as real parameters of economic austerity as evanescent on common approaches to foreign policy. Federica Mogherini - officially High Representative for the EU's Foreign policy - has an entire legislature to restore credibility to a Union that, although they have a decent European diplomatic service, may actually rely on scarce banks between the litigants and undecided 28.

But the new Lady CFSP, resigned as italian Foreign minister, even before the move from Rome to Brussels, made it clear early on that tomorrow pulls fresh air.

Thanked elegantly Baroness Ashton in the Council of EU foreign ministers in Luxembourg on October 20th, the last as head of Italian diplomacy, calling her 'Cathy' and emphasizing the "great affection" with which she accepted her. But to give Union a unique voice is an other thing, and Mogherini has already had a little time to train during first four months as Foreign Minister and then with the demanding role of President of Union that led her even further on the international stage.

Many are crisis areas - from Ukraine to Libya, Syria, Iraq, Israel-Palestine conflict - in which Mogherini tried to be present somehow pulling the "short blanket" of Europe. (ANSA).
