(ANSA) - PRAGUE - Economic turbulence, political disaffection exacerbated by corruption scandals, an uncertain future in terms of governance. The Czech Republic goes to the polls on October 25 and 26 in order to elect the House of Representatives four months after the beginning of a complex political crisis generated by the catastrophic fall of the centre-right government led by Petr Necas. A victory of the left-wing coalition, at the end of a process which began in January with the election of President Milos Zeman, seems to be the most reliable option, but the final results of polls, however, are rather unpredictable.

The latest surveys showed that seven parties should be able to pass the 5% electoral threshold, but also indicated that nobody, alone, will be able to get the majority. In a leading position, even though declining compared with survey results in recent weeks, you can find the Social Democrats, CSSD -pro Euro, who are in favour of tax increases on the wealthy, and who want to revise pension and health care reforms implemented by the centre-right government, whose consensus is estimated between 23% and 26%. They are followed by the Communists of KSCM, which should win between 14% and 18%, according to different surveys.

Ano (Action of Dissatisfied Citizens), populist movement founded by tycoon Andrej Babis, is running to get to ''bronze'' medal.

What is the most realistic post poll scenario? A Socialist-led government , with an external support by the Communists: a solution supported by a majority of a little more than 100 seats in parliament out of 200 seats at stake, said to ANSA New Europe Jiri Pehe, one of the most distinguished Czech political scientists. Given this scenario, the most important factor will be the percentage difference between Social Democrats and Communists according to official results, because the plan is to create a minority government led by the first party.
