(ANSA) - BUCHAREST, NOVEMBER 8 - Ahead of the first round of presidential elections scheduled for next Sunday in Romania, Romanian citizens residing abroad can vote today at the offices of Embassies and consulates around the world. In Romania, all eligible citizens will vote on Sunday from 7 am until 9 pm.

Fourteen candidates are running for president, but only three seem able to win at the first round or at the runoff which will take place in two weeks. These three are the current president Klaus Iohannis, conservative, who is the favorite and could be appointed to a second term, Dan Barna, member of the center-right Alliance USR-PLUS, and the former Social Democratic premier Viorica Dancila, whose government got a no-confidence vote two weeks ago.
