08 November, 15:21
(ANSA) - TRIESTE, NOVEMBER 8 - "The contribution of our shipyards in Romania is fundamental for the construction of ships in Italian shipyards. Without them, we wouldn't have been able to acquire such a large number of orders," said the CFO of Fincantieri, Giuseppe Dado, during a conference call with analysts the day after the approval of the Group's results up to September 30th.

Positive figures, those of the Group, which closed the third quarter with a workload of over 32bn, ships up to 2027 and revenues up 9.7%, that is 4,254m euro (3,878m on Sept. 9, 2018) and an Ebitda growing to 287m (up 2.1%; 281m) with an EBITDA margin of 6.7% (7.3%) reflecting the positive performance of the shipbuilding sector (up 30.2%, despite the negative effect of Vard's cruise contracts and the lower margins of the Offshore and Special vessels sectors).

"In Romania - he added - we work between 40,000 and 50,000 tons of steel a year. In terms of revenues, the country's contribution accounts for half a billion euros a year". (ANSA).
