Volkswagen postpones decision on plant in Turkey

(ANSA) - BERLIN, OCTOBER 15 - Volkswagen has postponed a
decision on the future opening of a factory in Izmir, Turkey,
due to the Turkish military offensive in Syria, a spokesperson
for the German carmaker said Tuesday.
"The decision on the new plant was adjourned by the board of Volkswagen AG", said the spokesperson, adding that the company eyes with concern current developments in the region. Many believe Bulgaria could at this point replace Turkey in the plan for a new factory, Dpa reports. (ANSA).
